Following up: Translator
Steve Barton of Translator posted in the comments of my Translator post:
Hi,
Steve Barton from Translator here! Yes, we are playing SXSW. Our show is on Thursday March 16th at The Elysium, 11pm slot. Also on the bill are The Alarm and The Like. Should be really good. We will also be at the Pop Culture Press party on Saturday afternoon March 18th at the Dog & Duck Pub in Austin, 1pm slot.
If anyone would like to check out more of our songs, try looking for the Sony/Legacy CD "Everywhere That We Were" on eBay. It's a very good overview. Also, we will have a CD available at SXSW with all previously unreleased live cuts, demos and studio outtakes.
Over and out,
steve
How cool is that? He didn't even tell me to take the mp3 down! So if you are going to SXSW, make sure to go hear Translator play, ok?

My band used to cover Translator in high school. 1985. I remember hearing that first few chords of Everywhere That I'm Not and freaking out. The only thing available is a video on the iTunes store. Nuts. Time to dig out my vinyl. Thanks HK.
The SXSW gigs were really great! The set list for our show at the Elysium club was: "When I Am With You", "Favorite Drug", "Everywhere", "Nothing Is Saving Me", "Necessary Spinning", "New Song", "Standing In Line", "Everywhere That I'm Not" and the encore song was "O Lazarus". Yeah - we got an encore!
As far as iTunes goes, let Sony know that you'd like it available. We've been talking to them about getting it up on iTunes, but as you mentioned, only the one video is there.
Peace/Love,
steve barton (translator)
